Thawte SSL certificates will enable the SSL on your web server, giving you the ability to communicate securely with your web customers. SSL security makes eavesdropping on your web traffic almost impossible.

Thawte SSL Server Certificates have been engineered to provide flexibility to dynamically support 40 bit, 56 bit, or 128 bit encryption, depending on the capability of the web server and web browser being used.

Note: Thawte SSL Server Certificates will provide 128 bit encryption as long as you are running a 128-bit enabled server and your users are running 128 bit enabled browsers. 

Renew your Certificate

Thawte certificates are valid for one year. You can renew your Thawte SSL Certificate for only US$100. Renewed certificates are valid for 52 weeks from the expiration date of the original certificate. We therefore recommend that you renew your certificate before your existing one expires so that you get maximum usage from it. E.g., if your certificate expired on 15 January 2001, then your renewed certificate will be valid for 52 weeks from 15 January 2001 (irrespective of when you apply for it).
